Video conference

Video conference solutions increase the care and lower the costs

We see a number of trends in the healthcare sector that have a significant impact on the current way of working. A few facts: higher costs of healthcare, aging population, increased need for home treatment, specific patient-oriented care with the necessary prevention, an increased demand for mobility within the hospital and a different approach for telehealth and telemedicine. Video conference can certainly be used for many different purposes.

Medical trainings

Video conference is often used for various trainings like general or medical education, internal trainings or personal or professional development. The doctor or nurse chooses the location and timing for the training.

Medical procedures – operating room

When video signals need to be recorded during medical procedures, these images can be transferred to other rooms. This can be a different operating room or a consultation room, where advice can be asked to a colleague surgeon. These images can also be transferred to an aula or education room to bring additional information on the critical steps during the procedure.

Video conference is often implemented for the management of patient movements in the operating room.

Telemedicine, collaboration between the various medical teams

Video conference allows to transfer medical data, such as high-definition images, sound or patient records between 2 or more locations. When various medical teams have to collaborate, this technology will guarantee that all members involved have the most recent information on the patient at their disposal.

This is also an ideal technology for the Multidisciplinary Oncologic Consultation (MOC). All disciplines are immediately and directly involved in the discussion of the patient’s pathology. The doctor can even select the location from where he follows these discussions, thus limiting the movements or travel time.
